A Journey of Growth, Perspective, and Self-Discovery

On January 12, 2026, JGL led Taiwan junior golfers overseas to compete in the SportExcel International Junior Golf Championship. Beyond being a high-level international tournament, the event became a meaningful journey of growth—athletically, mentally, and personally.

Throughout the week-long competition and exchanges, players faced unfamiliar courses, international opponents, and demanding schedules. They learned how to manage pressure, make strategic decisions, and take responsibility for their performance. For many, this was their first true international stage—an experience impossible to replicate at home.

Lessons Beyond the Scorecard

According to team leader Coach Steven, the most valuable part of this journey was not a single round’s result, but the growth observed throughout the process.

“After a week of international competition, we could clearly see the players’ growth. Take what you’ve learned, set your next goals, plan your training—and we’ll meet again at the next challenge.”

Many parents noticed significant changes in a short time—not only in golf skills, but also in independence, emotional control, and overall maturity in understanding the game.

Meaningful Reflections from Families and Players

One parent shared with a smile that their child returned “tanner and more mature,” having learned to do laundry, manage equipment, and even take strategic notes—habits developed through competition.

One of the parents served as caddies for the first time, experiencing the pace and intensity of international competition firsthand. They shared that while results may still improve, the experience gave their children clearer direction and stronger motivation.

JGL: Where Competition Becomes Education

Through the SportExcel International Junior Golf Championship, JGL reaffirmed its core philosophy: competition as part of education. From pre-event preparation and on-course discipline to strategy, reflection, and goal-setting, JGL focuses on long-term, sustainable player development.

International tournaments are not the destination, but the beginning—helping young players see the world and discover themselves. JGL will continue guiding Taiwanese juniors onto global stages, building skill, perspective, and confidence for the future.
