The complete path from your first Tour Series start to TJO qualification
JGL's points system is built around one idea: play consistently, build experience. It's the foundation for annual rankings, All-Star series eligibility, and international selection. Below: Divisions, Categories & Tees, and how individual and team points work.
Three divisions, one clear path forward
From building match experience to earning a spot on the international stage, each division has its own purpose.
DII
Tour Series
Lower entry threshold, built for beginner and developing players to gain tournament experience. No eligibility requirements.
DI
All-Star series
Higher competitive intensity. Eligibility is based primarily on JGL Points Ranking, and DI scores are the key basis for International and TJO selection.
INT
International
Covers overseas events, including the TJO (Taiwan Junior Open). Selection criteria are announced separately for each event.
Age Categories & Tees
Individual play is split into four Categories by grade, each paired with different tees by gender and division.

Actual playing distances are adjusted to course conditions, generally within ±200 yards. JGL reserves the right to adjust, merge, or split Categories based on turnout and international event requirements.
Team play is organized by school
Split into two Categories by grade. School teams are formed automatically from enrolled players.
G3–G6
Elementary Category
Covers school teams made up of Lower and Upper Elementary Category players.
G7–G12
Secondary Category
Covers school teams made up of Middle School and High School Category players.
How individual scoring works
Points accumulate from a player's finish in DII Tour Series and DI All-Star Series events, forming the basis of the JGL Points Ranking.
Annual Individual Ranking
Players are ranked within their Category by JGL Points Ranking.
DI Eligibility
DI entry is opened based on a player's ranking at the time of registration.
Annual Awards
Used for the Player of the Year award and each Category's annual ranking awards.
Partial TJO Guaranteed Spots
Top annual point finishers in each Category earn a guaranteed TJO spot, up to the number set by that season's policy; players who already qualified do not take an additional spot.

DII points scale with the size of the field on the day; DI points are fixed by finishing place. Figures above illustrate the general shape of the table — see the full official points table for every place and field-size tier, and note that values may be revised season to season.
Teams are formed automatically by school. A team needs at least two players within the same Team Category to be eligible.
There's no cap on roster size, but only the top two scores from each school count toward that round's team score.
Team Points are awarded by finishing order, with DI events weighted more heavily than DII. See the official Team Points table for exact values by division and placement, which may be revised season to season.
Carry-over Policy
At the start of a new season, players carry over points equal to one DI finish based on their prior-season JGL Points Ranking, rewarding consistent, season-over-season participation. New members start the season at 0 points and build up through DII and DI events.
Carry-over points apply to JGL Points Ranking and DI eligibility. For TJO or international selection, each event's own published criteria still apply.
JGL reserves the right to interpret and adjust this policy as circumstances require.
JGL may adjust quotas, category groupings, tee assignments, points allocations, selection methods, and waitlist procedures in response to event scale, registration numbers, venue conditions, weather, category-by-category turnout, international quota changes, eligibility questions, or other special circumstances.
JGL reserves final interpretation and review authority over all provisions described on this page. Where this page and an official event announcement differ, the official event announcement governs.
